It appears to be a Silver Cloud III Standard Steel Saloon. An E suffix number plate is anachronistic, the suffix was introduced on 1st January 1967, the Cloud range was discontinued in 1965. -- Last edit: 2016-11-07 08:58:23 |

According to Wikipedia Silver Cloud III's were produced from 1963-66.. |

LHD with small over-riders = Europe export spec. NLF 278E was genuine 1967 London issue for "Home Delivery Export Scheme", but impossible to explain here. |

The last standard bodied Silver Cloud III, chassis number SKP423 was built in September 1965. Any cars delivered later would have been coachbuilt or long wheelbase and the delay at the coachbuilders could have been extensive. -- Last edit: 2016-11-07 14:06:54 |

@johnfromStaffs or dsl - It is possible that this was a SSI or II and it was facelifted to a III?? |

I'd say probably not - the SC3 bits look to me as they should do - no funny stuff at bonnet join with radiator for instance and correct SC3-only bumpers. Plus the time gap from an SC1 or SC2 to an apparently real 1967 plate is longer, so it is less easy to make any sense. My best idea is this was supplied new to Europe, stayed there for a few years, then came to UK for long enough to need a UK registration, then returned to Europe just before filming. |

I also looked carefully at the depth of the radiator compared with the front wings since this and the slope of the bonnet would be the hardest things to duplicate, and concluded that this was a kosher SCIII. |
