Captain Murphy's car was a 1987-1989 model due to the lack of door-mounted seatbelts (eliminating 1990 as a possibility). I suppose that somehow Riggs and Murtaugh found the time to tint the windows right before sending this poor Caprice to its fate: -- Last edit: 2013-01-21 10:40:21 |

There's no hood ornament, and when Riggs opens the trunk in the Mesa Verda scene near the end of the movie, the inside of the trunk is painted brown. I would draw from that, it's the same Caprice from the opening scene of the movie, repainted and with the push bars removed. The car is probably a 1989 as has the full chrome wheel covers, which were offered on 9C1 starting in 1989. Before that the 9C1 almost exclusively came with the "dog dish" style hubcap I believe. -- Last edit: 2015-06-02 20:01:20 |

Apparently the director Richard Donner does not like caprices, since in all the saga they have little screen time and because of the ending that he decided to turn it into Swiss cheese, something that the thugs didn't even bother, in LW4 they are conspicuous by their absence. |
