![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Apparently Lewis was the first place in UK - maybe the world (according to commentary) - to get a mobile bank in 1946 (apparently a converted ex-US army Studebaker left behind after WW2), but this plate OSC 822 was March-May 1956 Edinburgh issue. Text on back says National Bank of Scotland, Stornoway - the National Bank of Scotland eventually became part of today's Royal Bank of Scotland.
