This is a Volkswagen Type 1 (Bug/Beetle) based kit car called the Manx, made by B. F. Meyers & Co. in Fountain Valley, California, 1964-71 -- or maybe one of its many replicas. It's a fiberglass unibody with Volkswagen axles, transmission, and engine (no Volkswagen chassis underneath). See wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meyers_Manx |

how do you know it's Manx and not some other kit car producer? -- Last edit: 2016-09-30 17:48:20 |

As I wrote, "or one of its many replicas". But it's shaped like a Manx, so it's at least a Manx-inspired unibody, not one of the many dune buggies on a shortened Bug platform frame. Of course, RWD (which I overlooked) strongly suggests a Manx replica. |

Why make a Manx replica? Is the Manx that fancy and unaffordable? |
