I think the plate is CCX 1xx = 1940, Huddersfield. Other shots slightly earlier![]() ![]() Unrelated archive footage of Huddersfield trolley buses at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUOcm-5zWNs - seems early 60s from cars etc so near film date. Gallery of Huddersfield trolleys - Link to "www.examiner.co.uk" , wiki page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trolleybuses_in_Huddersfield , 3 survivors at Sandtoft Trolleybus Museum - a Karrier MS2 (http://www.sandtoft.org/huddersfield-541 ), a BUT 9641T (http://www.sandtoft.org/huddersfield-619 ), and a Sunbeam S7A (http://www.sandtoft.org/huddersfield-631 ). |

It's giving me eye strain trying to figure this one out.....check out the fleetlist here: http://www.jsh1949.co.uk/HUDDERSFIELD%20FLEET%20LIST.htm . Personally I can't make up my mind as to the registration and I don't know trolleybuses well enough to give an educated guess. |

I did my best to decipher what the fleet number could possibly be. I think this could be #580 using stevea’s link it maybe a 1949 Sunbeam MS2 with Park Royal H40/30R bodywork. Registration is within the ECX range. Of course this is all based on the blurry fleet number from the main image. -- Last edit: 2016-09-21 04:31:58 |

... so ECX 180 plate and I can run with that and #580 from the capture. ECX 179 #579 is shown in my link above and is another 1949 Sunbeam MS2 with Park Royal H40/30R bodywork. So I think you've probably cracked it. |
