It has the look of a 1938 Austin to me (Flashlot when applied to taxis), the prewar 1936-38 10-cwt Jowett van having a radiator divided with a vertical strip.

So I found this 1938 Austin Light 12/4 10cwt van, although I see some similarity I cannot say how they compare in size and details, bacause of the small picture size...

^^ Thanks, johnfromstaffs I hesitated in posting my comment because I was very uncertain.

There are more Austin van designs just prewar than I realised.

edit:

Twelve Van, 12 Van or 12/4 Van? We appear to have variations again in naming.

^ Our egg delivery man - I think he was a Warwickshire poultry farmer who tried doing weekly rounds in south Birmingham suburbs in late-60s - had an all-over grey Vanden Plas Princess 3-litre estate - one of only 7 made.

Yup, and above my head to resolve except we seem to have reached a stage where everything 12/4 or 12/6 (whatever version/body) is up to 1937 and everything 1938+ is Twelve. May not be bulletproof, but workable.

Its a solution to the problem, dsl. :)

Front wings on the van do seem to be 1938-1939 (lower at the front) also the windscreen appears deeper thab this 1934 Austin 12/4 Van
