:think: Looks like an authentic border crossing point - and as it seems, a very rare view from the eastern side (no big problems for the film makers, as they were Russian)

maybe the Checkpoint Charlie. Otherwise the development looks too wide open for the Friedrichstraße.

But otherwise again the Checkpoint Charlie seems to be likely due the black Volga. The staff for the

always passed The Wall over there. And they -four Red Army officers- usually took a blck Volga for that purpose. Once in 1987 I made a snapshot of them right there :)

On that point, it's unfortunate that Guy Ritchie's version of Checkpoint Charlie /vehicle_828842-Ford-M151-A2--MUTT--1970.html is more accurate than the one in Steven Spielberg's Bridge of Spies, where the street on the western side is far too narrow . :)
