they'd have to be NUTS to use a real Yenko, especially after that boat jump. They were just SS's with Yenko seats and stripings. Oh, and badges

The one they smashed into the boat was a rustheap painted to look like the yenko. It didn't even have a properly running motor.

All of the cars were Yenko replicas. Most telling is the fact that they all had deluxe interior trim, which no real Yenko came with.

its a clone. the movie had an estimated $76M budget, and the marina blue \'69 Yenko Camaros, the rarest of the Yenko Super Cars, usually goes for $2.2M at auction. They wouldn\'t have blown that much of the budget on a single car only to have it totaled.

For all those wondering if it's real or not, It's a real numbers matching Don Yenco copo camaro. Its also one of the rarest with aluminum block, intake, and heads and muncie m22 trans witch most had an m21. I should know because I restored it.
It had the deluxe interior package, even power windows. It was correct according to the build sheet and V.I.N. All the others were Hollywood mock ups, built with year one parts witch are made in china and nothing fit right. in other words Lick n sticks, or hoopdy's. It was appraised @ over $250,000.

even with nitro I still don't think some Mitsubishi could beat it (unless the Yenko runs out of gas)

They should've used the ugly Eclipse for the jump.

In a 1/4 mile, the Evo and the Yenko actually have a similar speed. In a 1 mile drag race, the Evo would win because of longer gear ratio. But the Yenko is waaaaay more beautiful.

Does anyone know what mufflers were used on this car? It sounds awesome in the movie! I don't think it sounds like it had the old school chamber mufflers though.

Oliver Wendell wrote That Yenko Camaro is a game changer

What are you talking about?!? A “Game Changer?” theres cars were ordered by Don Yenko for his dealership to have the (427-CID Big Block) L72 engines installed on the factory assembly line (‘COPO’ or Central Office Production Order) there were A total of 201 cars in 1969; 171 with Muncie M-21 4-Speed Transmissions & 30 with Turbo-Hydramatic 400 Auto transmissions. Yenko added ‘sYc’ (Yenko Super Car) logos on the vinyl headrests. "Yenko 427" badges, side-stripes & bonnet stripes with a triangle shape in front of the racing stripes so it was like an arrow pointing forward on the cowl Induction hood… there was 201 of them made in 1969. The closest thing to happen since the 1969 Yenko 427 Camaro was the SLP Firehawk Trans Am & the Firehawk Trans Am, in my opinion is a lot more like the Ford SVT Cobra-R Mustang than the Yenko Camaro

That’s “…will snap a Speedo’ in 5-Seconds flat”. (“Speedo’ “ being short for Speedometer & COPO Camaro’s had speedometers which went up to 140-MPH. Not even Vin Diesel’s Pro Mod 1970 Dodge Charger he raced his Orange Supra against in the first film could’ve gone 0-150 mph in 5 seconds flat, that’s Funny Car & Top Fuel kinda acceleration…

Thank goodness movie logic was on Brian's and Roman's side during the jump.
