2003+ Toyota Avanza. Origin: Indonesia. |

Origin Japan, I'd say. As per english and japanese Wikipedias, it's a common project between Daihatsu and Toyota as part of the U-IMV program (similar to the IMV program which spawned the Hiux, Avanza & Fortuner), with a typical Daihatsu chassis code. |

No, Indonesian origin is correct, the IMV project was never been for JDM, Indonesia is where the Avanza-Xenia and Innova/Kijang Innova are fully developed, and was also the first country to launch the original versions of those two model, as well served as the original home base for their production before others countries like Malaysia (Avanza) and India (Innova). They are the successors of the Indonesian-developed Kijang and both are not sold in Japan ever since the originals came out. Needs a mass origin change for every Avanzas-Xenias and Innovas/Kijang Innovas entries to reflect this. Those models also brought different specific chassis codes, but this is not the right time to revamp the codes. Also, as already said by @JB, this is a pre-facelift 2004-2006 by the taillights and wheels, 2006-2011 is the first facelift. -- Last edit: 2022-05-08 08:04:31 |

All right, I'm changing the origin. And also the year, as the Avanza was put in production in December 2003 and launched in January 2004. |
