I think that 2106 model should get it too = All 1993+ Zhigulis whould be 1997+.
I-Denev ◊ 2017-01-15 20:16	1. The new steering wheel - no one in the site has not claimed that is after 1993. Оn the contrary, by the identification criterias of 130rapid, the new steering wheel came in the late-1997 for the all classic AvtoVAZ-models. These criterias are long before you came in the site. You just have not get acquainted with them. 2. All-black plastic grille is used simultaneously with chromed ones in the long period of time. On the other hand, after 1993 is mainly all-black one. 3. Most of the new colours are even after 2000, but in your pics have unoriginal ones, like in the last thumb. The new wheels with circle holes (1997 for the 2105 and 2107) came earlier for 2106 - circa 1993 because of stopping of production of the old chromed hubcaps for 2106. Later, in 1997 these wheels starts using for VAZ-2105 and 2107 for unification. In 1993 the interior is changed - old steering wheel, but black dashboard, door-trims, new seat-trims. Also new wheels and mainly used all-black grilles.

Because lack of sufficient sources on web, that's the effect of simple but careful comparing genuine looking cars, year by year. However, there is one huge problem with that: so many cars are customized or repaired using newer elements, easy replaced, plug & play. Making Skodopedia & Trabantopeida year-by-year visual changes summaries was piece of cake because excellent web & books (Skoda) knowledge's sources. There is some more info of the first years of simplification of the details and design. This time, when the factory replaced chrome with plastic. 1. 1976-1983' chromed arches molding: 2. 1976-1984' chromed edging of the back lamps on fenders: 3. 1984-1986' plastic edging of the back lamps on fenders: 4. 1986+ no-lamps-fenders. All info here: /vehicle_62992-VAZ-2106-Zhiguli-1986.html 5. 1986+ black mirrors, plastic doorstep molding. Something from Izhevsk-Made period: 2002-2006' wheels. (In use: /vehicle_153602-VAZ-2106-Zhiguli-2002.html) That' a bit too, but can help with a identification of the true year. The most of 2002-2003 cars roll on previous wheels still, with small circular vents. You can find these wheels on later cars too, but Izh 6-vent wheels begin dominate on 2004. Like you see, it's not so easy. :X The excellent sources are manual repairs, old articles & road tests.
