Possibly Bedford WHG 1931-1934 2-ton short wheelbase which would also pre-date this Bedford WTH London Metropolitan Police Recovery Vehicle

Its just possible the later recovery truck appeared in more than one movie I guess; if it was used once another occurrence is a possibility, however slim.

However the majority movies and TV series would not normally have access to actual Metropolitan Police vehicles. The Scotland Yard short films with Edgar Lustgarten is unlikely for example (I have watched about a third of the episodes).

From January 1932 onwards when introduced; the Bedford breakdown lorry was based on the Bedford short wheelbase 2-tonner, body by Spurling .

'HF' (Harvey Frost and Co, Ltd.) recovery crane. https://gracesguide.co.uk/Harvey_Frost_and_Co

We have five further Bedfords with the same 'HF' cranes from the 1930s to the 1960s.
