The product information is not entirely correct; no [W 114] were (as far as I can tell) ever fitted with a M 115 engine and called 200, and like wise no 200 was built on a [W 114] chassis. If http://wiki.mercedes-benz-classic.com/index.php/Kategorie:W114/W115 is correct, and so far it has been just that, no Ambulances had such a small engine as the M 115. Instead the alternatives were (if assuming it was made MY 1968-73: - Mercedes-Benz 220 D [W 115] and - Mercedes-Benz 230 [W 114]. In Sweden, the Diesel versions were considered too slow, and thus all Mercedes-Benz Ambulances were built on a 230 chassis. Any possibilities to hear the engine? Edit: Is there any more pictures available to be able to see the front doors? At the moment I cannot see if it has quarter windows and small door rear virw mirrors (MY 1968-73) or no quarter windows and bigger rear view mirrors (MY 1974-76). If the latter made MY 1974-76 the alternatives were: - Mercedes-Benz 240 D [W 115] or - Mercedes-Benz 230.6 [W 114]. I also believe the body work is made by Binz with the model name Europ 1200 L /vehicle.php?id=877284 . -- Last edit: 2016-03-31 11:02:40 |

Agree with your edited comment (Might have been added as a new comment?) as no vent window (main image), a wide and low grille and the number plate position show a Serie 2 1974-76. As you have stated, 230.6 or 240D were available. The higher rear door indicate a Binz convertion. |
