1964-1966 Karman Cabriolet Beetle |

Made by Karman, but sold as 1964-65 VW 1200 Cabriolet/1966 VW 1300 Cabriolet in DE While wipers and door sides are hidden it does have the larger hub caps, doesn't it, so no 1966. And the canvas sits slightly higher, so 1964 only? |

Was the VW Cabriolet sold somewhere as "Karmann Cabriolet"? AFAIK never, always as Volkswagen. |

Like the campers converted by Westfalia, or the T3 Syncro (or all late T3s) that were adapted or assembled in Graz, the Karmann ragtops were hand crafted (sheet metal) and put together in Osnabrück but marketed under the VW brand. Like the Westies were just sold as a camper (right @eLMeR?) the Karmann typ15 were just a convertible VW. So was even the Hebmüller Typ14A (late ones were actually built at Karmann) but while the Hebmüller was sold as Cabriolet Zweisitzer (you wold probably claim it's a 2+2) the Karmann was sold as Cabriolet Viersitzer. The later VW Beetle Convertible Karmann is on the other hand sold with Karmann added to its name, but still under the VW brand. |

(referring to the vehicle name above the main capture) There are two "N"s in "Karmann". |

@ ingo & tore-40: So which exact name should be given? And with or without Karmann? |

without. It was never sold named "Karmann" |
