Don't know about Mexico but this Volkswagen was used in Hawaii--as this clip is from the 2nd season 2-hour premiere, "Angels In Paradise," which introduced Cheryl Ladd as "Kris Munroe." Don't know about getting 3 stars, as this Volkswagen Thing was just the Angel's rental vehicle to drive around Oahu in this episode only--and it was only shown a few times.
