This car was only used in the pilot movie "Cocoon", which was filmed in 1967. The car was rented from Hertz and was black with a black vinyl top and red interior. After it's use, it was returned to Hertz and it's whereabouts is unknown.

Yes, this 67 Marquis was only used during the "Pilot" TV Move "Cocoon." Starting with the first regular series episode ("Full Fathom Five") a 1968 Parklane was implemented as McGarrett's car. However, the 67 Marquis was also used for filming some of the original stock driving footage. So, a lot of the time during first season when McGarrett is driving somewhere his car is suddenly the 67 Marquis again. Then when he pulls up to the crime scene it's back to the 68 Parklane. Back then they assumed nobody would notice or care. Later, after the 68 had been filmed for new stock driving footage, it too was out-of-place when McGarrett got his final car--a 74 Mercury Marquis. He would be shown driving in his 68 but then pulling up in the new 74.
