As far as I understand, I believe this is painted in DB 880 (Cactus Green), possibly available from 1981 http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/colour_swatch_mercedes_1981A.php . |

@130rapid: I didn't notice that you had already tried to identify the colour. That is because I made a try round about 20.30 hours, but was interrupted by a friend who came for a visit. I feel a bit ashamed as imcdb really should be the only friend one needs Anyway I left the computer on and posted it before I went to bed. How sure are you about the colour? When I compare DB870 (Nickelgrün) with DB880 (Agaven grün), DB870 is slightly darker than the one shown above. But then again it could be a trick of the light. Perhaps a good link http://www.astralsilber.de/farbcodes/farbcodes.htm . -- Last edit: 2016-01-20 13:09:33 |

880 has 'warmer' tone than 870, and your choice is correct. Confirmed by (now noticed) 1980+ rear headrests. It seems astrasilber page has not very good 870 sample, photographed in full sun. |

@zodiac: The link is great indeed, thanks a lot! I had almost forgotten all these creative, picturesque and melodic names like "Heliosgelb", "Citrusgrün" or "Ikonengold" that almost sound like poetry. |

Here's an (in my humble opinion anyway) excellent page about how car colours can vary http://sterntwiete.mparschau.de/html/lackierungen.html . |
