actually they were right it was a 359, the look at the breathers, the breather tubes on the 379 are hidden the breather tubes on the 359 are see-able and the breather tubes on this truck are see-able there for the truck is a 359 not a 379 infact the truck is a 1986/87 Peterbilt 359 |

Hold on Peterbilt fanatics... 1987 was the first year of the 379, it had the rectangle headlights that we all know & love mounted on the bracket like the double round lights, not like the common style you think of when you think 379. Also it was the only year of 379 that had the elbows outside of the hood to the Air cleaners. A true blue 1987 379 is an Odd Duck to say the least. |

The visible air cleaner hose indicates without a doubt a 1967-87 359. Here with the 1973+ 1100 cab. |
