1938 Delage avec une carrosserie 'usine' (faite par Autobineau). Je n'arrive pas à trouver le modèle exacte... |

It is not easy to trace those Salmson or Delage prewar cars. Salmson cars were smaller than Delage and this body four doors was most likely to Salmson. But I get the 1936 S4D as well the S4-61 as possibilities. Here is the 4-61 Link to "www.google.com.br" Look the wheels, hubcaps, the door arrangement, very similar. The windows are, meanwhile, a bit different. |

I find the general design of this car much more 'airflow', modern, than the rather conservative shape of the Salmson's body. (But I'm delighted to understand the car is French.) |

Here's a 1938 (?) Delage D6-70 with the same typical Autobineau doors, the same wheels, the same alternating air vents in the bonnet sides. But with a more formal shape of the rear and the fenders. As far as I know the smaller versions (DI-50 and D6-60) had a more fluent styling (but as I said I cannot yet find a decent picture of those. http://www.history-of-cars.com/images/delage/d6-70-212-015.jpg |
