Then it is either an S1 or an S2...How does one tell which it is?? |

You can't without looking under the bonnet and counting the cylinders. It is not possible, there is no badging on the car and the exhaust systems for both the six and eight cylinder engines end in one outlet. There is no other way to tell, everything you see in this picture could have been fitted at the factory to either model. -- Last edit: 2015-10-18 18:36:00 |

So just call it a Bentley and leave it at that or call it a Bentley S-Series?? |

Bentley S-series standard steel saloon in my book! There was a change to the rear lights in August 1962, but I'm not certain what. -- Last edit: 2015-10-18 18:52:31 |

Right, it's a Bentley. One can see the faintest hint of the Flying B and wings in the center of the rear bumper, right where it should be. If it were a Rolls, you'd see a big rectangle with the double R interrupting the smooth line of the bumper in the same place. |
