is that chrome thingy on the car the heater intake or is he working on it and its part of the motor? |

I'd say a car much older than the BMW suggested by garco. Some sport coupé. |

That is a great guess, garco. I think you've got it! Oops...so close! -- Last edit: 2007-02-08 23:42:40 |

The chrome thing looks right but a 1800 wouldn't dare break down |
◊ 2007-02-08 23:46 |
My first thought was that one, but I guess that I compared a wrong model-year on Google Images as the one that I found looked too different |

Good quiz. I love the 1800s but I never liked the 1800ES very much - don't know why. -- Last edit: 2007-02-08 23:53:13 |

I love both versions 1800 and 1800 ES... I'm willing to buy one |

It's the ventilation air intake cover trim piece which has a chromed surround : http://www.volvo1800pictures.com/engine/ES72_105_id_286_5.jpg BTW - A VERY cool car in my opinion... But I do not like those wheels. -- Last edit: 2007-02-09 07:41:41 |

I don't like them either and think they are aftermarket. I don't remember any 1800 with those wheels. edit: These cars will last forever. Some guy in NY, USA put over 1,000,000 miles on one. My first one (1962) went 248,000 miles without major work before it got wrecked. One weak point on the early (jensen built) ones - they had a water cooled, oil cooler that tended to leak oil into the coolant. -- Last edit: 2007-02-09 16:58:48 |
