The car is a 1952 Packard 200 or 200 Deluxe, following the hood mascot. On the left side is another Packard (1948-50). As the side chrome is not visible I can't identify it closer. |

Actually, this COULD be a '53 from the limited angle shown. That same '51 to '52 200 style hood ornament and upper grille section was used on the base-line '53 Clippers along with that same front fender spear. Could be more precise if more of the grille or rear window were visible. We can eliminate '51 (no hood lettering) and '54 (different hood ornament). -- Last edit: 2010-09-01 20:45:02 |

It is definitely a 1953 Clipper not a 1952. Look at the picture in the middle of the row above (for the '59 Mercedes). You can clearly see this car in the center and it definitely has the '53 grille. Also, even without that you can tell it is a '53 by the top corners of the windshield. In 51-52 they were rounded corners and there was a narrow strip of roof-color down the A pillar. In 53 they squared off the corners and the garnish molding went all the way to the door edge (no strip of roof color visible anymore). |

Nice, 56! I'll add that bit if information to my ID collection data for future reference! (This is the base model Clipper as the side spears do not join.) -- Last edit: 2011-03-26 15:53:45 |
