An Australian Ford Falcon wagon - maybe XB or XC? Not sure which versions were sold in UK. Might be an upspec Fairmont. |

http://www.aus-ford-uk.co.uk/html/some_uk_background.html According to this website and the advertisements that it shows in it, it would appear that all wagons were sold in Fairmont spec. Could be any of the three! -- Last edit: 2015-09-16 13:12:44 |

UK got Aus Fords (Futura, Falcon, Fairmont, Fairlane 500) in various series from 1967 to 1978. My first thought on seeing this picture was Fairmont from early-mid 70s - I don't know the detail of Aus models/names/sequences, but that was the period when most effort was made to sell them here with Fairmont saloon and estate as the lead products. From Glass's info, we got no Falcon estates after 69 and no Falcon saloons after Dec 70 - the only Falcon afterwards was 73+ GT coupe (XA onwards). Fairmont XA arrived Jan 73, XB Jan 75, XC July 77 until Dec 78 when all Aus imports stopped. Only sold as saloon and estate - no choice of trim levels or engine sizes. |
