Only given a page because ILFORD livery (were they something photographic) might lead to an ID??

They were very much, quite a few Ilford Sportsman cameras for sale on e-bay.

Ilford Films are still in production and their black and white film in demand for niche markets. I have a roll in my fridge at the moment.

Commer QX is possible, I cannot at the moment think of an alternative in 1951. However the proportions look strange to me, the cab glass looks too large, so cannot rule out something I've missed.

Same here! Unfortunately, my fridge died two years ago.

1948 Morris-Commercial FV also appears to be a candidate by the cab proportions, but proof is almost impossible here.

So did you scrap your fridge with the film inside, or did you keep the fridge for sentimental reasons?

I kept it for prctical reasons (namely: shelves). Besides, all my Olympus are dead now, so the Ilford roll is piously kept on the base of some religious sentiment. Or lazyness?

For the same reasons I keep a dead Voigtländer.

Continuing the search, after ruling out a Morris-Commercial FV, the Karrier CK3 is very close in general appearance (and has a connection with the possible Commer identification).

Although mostly used for municipal vehicles plus fleets like GPO telephones their use by Ilford Films is less likely perhaps.

Only a possibly therefore it remains 'unknown'.
