What is the early 1930s car behind it (best seen in thumbnails #2 and #3)? I thought it might be the 1933 Chevrolet but '33 Chevies had 3 vent doors in the side of the hood; the 2 vent doors seen here seem unusual. I could have sworn I'd seen the 2 vent layout somewhere before but my searches are coming up empty. -- Last edit: 2015-09-03 20:37:16 |

When I felt on the 1933 Chevrolet I hoped it would be the car seen behind the truck. So, it's not. I don't think I could get a better image of it than the two thumbnails you noticed. |

The truck seems to be a 1939 or 1940 1½-ton Chevrolet model:![]() (1939 model) The GMC "cousin" has a different hood side emblem. Called Heavy Duty in the brochures and other documents, this one looks like a (factory-mounted) stake with closed racks: ![]() (1939 Chevrolet Truck Full Line Brochure excerpt) It doesn't seem to have the small parklamps on top of the fender like a 1940 model, so it's most certainly a 1939 only model. ⇒ 1939 Chevrolet Heavy Duty Stake? -- Last edit: 2015-09-04 03:52:16 |
