Indeed - built for John Player Team Lotus in 1972 by Marshall of Cambridge on a Leyland Leopard PSU3B/4R coach chassis, powered by an 11-litre diesel engine coupled to a 5-speed Leyland Hydracyclic gearbox. It has seating for seven passengers, weighing 14 tons fully laden. Nicknamed 'Jahil' on account of the registration plate, JAH 1L! |

"this Lotus Transporter has been used by Team Lotus from 1973 up until the early 80s.... it was built in late 1972 by Marshall of Cambridge and is based on a Leyland Leopard chassis. It changed livery many times from JPS to Essex and back to JPS. The transporter nickname JAHIL comes from its registration (JAH 1L)." - from http://forums.autosport.com/topic/89560-team-lotus-f1-transporter/ . I would suggest listing it as a '1972 Leyland Leopard PSU3B/4R race car transporter by Marshall'. |
