1982 Sedan DeVille with the wrong hood ornament.

1986 Fleetwood by plate.

^The plate is wrong. It is unquestionably a 82 front end:
1980 1981 1982 1983 1984 1985 1986 1987 1988 1989 1990 1991 1992

And a Sedan DeVille by the thinner rocker panel moldings, no chrome moldings along the side of the hood, larger rear window, continuous drip molding over the doors etc...

It's DeVille, but the owner claims it is allegedly '86 Fleetwood.

In the movie, or referring to the plate results?

In the announcement of its sale.

Was that in the movie? Or do you mean the results I got when checking the plate?

That link shows 1980-1981 tail lamp lenses. The later ones were divided vertically.
Could this be an '80/'81 with an '82 grille substituted?

Unfortunately that picture just shows how bad of shape this car is in. With the wavy reflection in the body, missing trunk lid badges, and even the white stripe in the bumper molding.

Yeah, I think we are dealing with a bit of a mongrel, here.

So maybe it might be a Fleetwood after all with so much mongrelization?

VIN, to be absolutely sure, is 1G6CB6988F4331335.

By VIN provided a 1985 Fleetwood

So, 1985 Fleetwood?

If that is in fact the true VIN for this car, then there is no other choice but to so list it even if it looks like something else.

I mean, it's quite a mongrel, so might as well list it by the VIN. It's our only trace.

1: Made in U.S.A.
G: General Motors
6: Cadillac Division
C: Front wheel drive DeVille/Fleetwood
B: Fleetwood
69: Four door sedan
8: 249 DFI
8: Check digit
F: 1985
4: Typo, should be 9 for made in Detroit
331335: Sequential production number.

As the VIN is for a front wheel drive model, which this car is clearly not, it's worthless.

Well then, since the VIN is incorrect for this car, we should used its appearance. Will keep listing as 1982 Sedan De Ville.

But if it's so much of a mongrel, what are the odds it started life as an '85 Fleetwood?
