I let this one to our Franco-Dutch specialists. |

Not a 202 for sure, due to the 3 hood side bars (only one on a 202). But... A 1937-38 302? A 1938 402 Légère (i.e. 402 engine in a 302 body & chassis)? Or a 1939-42 402 B Légère (402 engine on a 302 chassis + a 202 body with a lengthened hood)? I'd say 302 / 402 Légère, due to the shape of the passenger window and to the size of the molding. But is there here other visible details to tell one model over the other, as apparently only a front viewcould help to see a difference, thanks to the starting handle hole? (302: starting handle hole in the 0 // 402 Légère: hole below the model number) -- Last edit: 2015-07-09 06:46:07 |

Or a regular 402... |

Split windscreen, we can eliminate the 402B légère. yes, difficult to be sure for this one , between 302, 402 Légère of 402? Let's go for the earlier 402 1936+ |

Wouldn't the hood (and the chrome bars) be a bit more long? Oops. I forgot that detail indeed Just a guess, not an serious identification... Doesn't sound like your "scientific way of classification" If not left as unknown (which would indeed not be accurate, but we don't have for now an impossible to ID "model name"), and with the IMCDb habits of "lower" possible model in the vehicle line, shouldn't this car be set as a 1937+ 302? -- Last edit: 2015-07-09 17:26:25 |

I don't think there was a difference in the length of the hood between 402 and 302/402 Légère. And the regular 402 was much more common |

Don't the 27 cm/10.6" difference between the 2 wheelbases (2.88 m/113.4" for the 302 / 402 Légère, 3.15 m/124" for the 402) change the hood length? Was only the rear part concerned by this shortening? |

Yes, as far as I know only the rear end was longer. And there is a difference in width: 1.57 m and 1.65 m. |
