It could be a 1948+ Mercedes-Benz L-Something: L3250 / L3500 / L4500, also known as LF in Wikimedia Commons. If so, most of them are gathered as [L49] trucks in the IMCDb, with or without a model name.
Not a L311 / L312 for sure, as these models were upgraded version of the 1948 models, and have been unveiled in 1954 while the movie was released in 1950.

I don't believe in M-B. (Headlights, running boards.) It coud well be French, Latil for instance.

The most imparable would be to find the roster of Cassis, Martigues or Marseilles fire brigades in 1950.
