The last version of the UAZ 69 you mentioned never went into production. This car looks more like a Willys Jeep CJ-6 with some modifications to make it look like a Soviet 4x4. Anyhow it must have been a lot easier to get a Jeep in Botswana. |

It could be a chinese Beijing Jeep. They were constructed with help from the russians around 1960. Today they´re a part of Daimler-Chrysler. |

Didn't the Beijing jeeps look like a copy of the UAZ for a long time? I think it could also be like with the truck in th Indiana Jones movie: they took a western model and modified it till it looked a little more russified. |
