2007-01-17 22:37 | What means 'Sterling'? |
2007-01-17 22:58 | Probably just the name of the dealership the car came from. Sometimes car dealers put their own badges on the backs of cars, though I think it usually looks tacky and I wouldn't want it on a car I was buying. |
2007-01-17 23:00 | Sterling Honda is a Honda dealership - certainly in Ontario, Canada. |
2007-01-17 23:02 | My dad once had one of these, it was white and had a snubbed spoiler on the boot. The badge under the tail lights on the right side said 2.0i 4WALB 16v (or something). A lot of Accords of that generation that I've seen in Britain usually have badge saying EX-something. |
2007-01-17 23:05 | I thought Sterling was a make in the US that made clones of Rovers. Honda -> Rover is not so far... |
2007-01-18 00:32 | And it just so happens that the film was made...in Ontario: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0116908/locations |
2007-01-18 23:16 | Sterling (a joint venture between Rover and Honda) did make cars for the US in the '80s, but they only made one car. It wasn't a clone of a Rover IIRC, but a rebadged Acura Legend. |
2007-01-18 23:30 | It was the Rover 800, which was jointly developed with Honda and was the counterpart of the Legend. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rover_800 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sterling_%28car%29 -- Last edit: 2007-01-18 23:30:33 |
