The size of the window in the rear door suggests a "Series 75" convertible sedan for 1939 (style #7529) rather than a "Series 61" - 95% sure.

No, it's a series 61. Here some information

Here it is when it's used by Bruce Wayne. Since it's used by both Batman and Bruce wayne, It has to have 5 stars!!!

I do not see why, that rather matches the 4-star description...

And about the identification of the car, maybe that the site is wrong. Pictures on MrCadillac's site seem to match quite well for me: http://car-nection.com/yann/Dbas_txt/Phocad39.htm

The 1939 Cadillac convertible sedan shown on the "Batman" site that "carfan" kindly pointed out [www.batmobilehistory.com/1943-batmobile.php] is indeed a "Series 61" Cadillac. However, that is definitely NOT the same car as the one from the movie still, shown at the top of this page. Just compare the size of the rear window on both these cars. The "75" series is much longer than the "61" series. This is one more case of, "you can't believe EVERYTHING you see in print."

I wrote to the guy who set up the Batman site [www.batmobilehistory.com/1943-batmobile.php]:

Hi, I saw your site on the Internet: http://www.batmobilehistory.com/1943-batmobile.php. As a Cadillac historian I can assert that the "Series 61" Cadillac convertible sedan shown at the top of the page is NOT the same car as was used in the movie, That car was a "Series 75" convertible sedan of the same year; it has a much longer window in the rear door [see attached movie still]. Yann Saunders, Creator-Compiler of the Cadillac Database for the Museum and Research Center of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club, Inc.

He immediately replied:

Thank you for pointing that out, I will update the page shortly. Actually, that's great news to me - I want to build a model of the car, and the closest thing available is a 1938 Presidential Limo. I knew I was going to have to do a lot of work to the nose of the car, plus take out
the whole center extention, but the part that was causing me to procrastinate was the rear doors. I wasn't really looking forward to cutting all new doors for it, but it looks like the Series 75 has doors that are similar to the Limo. Do you happen to have any other photos of the Series
75 that you can send my way, or possibly a good reference that could you recommend for me to consult during the conversion? Good photos of these Cadillacs are pretty difficult to find. Thanks again, I really appreciate the correction! Bill Spencer - batmobilehistory.com - spencer1984.com.

Of course I shall send him the pics he needs !

To be fair, it would makes sense for Batman's car to be a more covert ordinary car.

Cheap? This thing cost $4065 in 1940 which is about $86,000 in 2023, about three and a half salaries back then.
