JCG 606 was late 50 Hampshire issue, so this is very early Mk.7. But background
[Image: 06-55jajg1959jcg606frb.jpg]
is Forth rail bridge, so a very long way from home and therefore probably an ex-police car when filmed. Nothing on check sites so not recently shot, but it does not look as if Forth road bridge is visible, so unless photo'd in Fife to NE of bridges, the 59 screen date may be correct.

I cannot comment about JCG 606. But the car is pure 1954 Mk VII M, the bumpers, the fog lights, the blinkers and the the little round grilles.

That opens things up a bit - "JCG 606" appears in 1959 film version of The 39 Steps - /vehicle_93024-Jaguar-MkVII-M-1955.html although only captured from rear - with apparently another MkVII M "WPK 32" - a 1955 Surrey plate and with frontal captures - /vehicle_93815-Jaguar-MkVII-M-1955.html - but the car looks identical. So I think this is 39 Steps footage and may well be WPK 32, and explains the 1959 caption here.

Noted also that the Wolseley 1500 is a 39 Steps reuse - /vehicle_92857-Wolseley-1500-ADO27-1958.html

The plate 'JCG 606' also appears in the 1957 film 'The Secret Place' fitted on a Wolseley 6/80 police car.
