As I indicated for the other Whitley on this site it cannot be 1946 , since the Whitley four was introduced in september 1949 , followed by a six in march 1952.With this finition I would go for a 1952/1953 one

For the sake of accurate record, the Whitley was produced between 1950 and 1953 and there was only ever one engine fitted, a 2309 cc straight six with pushrod overhead valves. This was rated at 18 RAC hp and was a development of the 1991cc six which was used in the earlier Lancaster/Hurricane/Typhoon models. The only post WWII four cylinder AS was the Sapphire 234 which was introduced in 1956 and used a 4 cylinder version of the 3.4 litre six from the Sapphire 346.
