I think this is actually the very rare Mitsubishi Carisma GT Evolution VI. Since the Lancer was never sold in continental Europe, Mitsubishi sold it with the very closely-related Mitsubishi Carisma nameplate. The main reason I think that is because its left hand drive. Then again, it has a Lancer badge...alternatively, it could of just been rebadged as a Lancer to make it seem as if it was a Japanese car. |

The one that crashes has Right Hand Drive. Even though there are LHD Lancers in Continental Europe, thay have to be fitted with that ridiculous fog light at the back. |

The registrations are real: 千葉 corresponds to the city of Chiba, quite in the middle of Japan, in Kantō region. The 葉 however does not appear to be the same as on actual Chiba plates. The plates read as follows: 千葉52つ87-92 千葉52つ87-94 千葉52つ87-96 The hiragana character つ is used with others, assigned in sequential order. Code 52 corresponds to passenger car with displacement from 660cc to 2000cc, shorter than 4.7 meters and maximum width 1.7 meters. These are among very last plates produced with the 5X codes since in 1998 they became 5XX codes, so they could have had a registration starting with 千葉500. |
