The Buick is on screen for eight minutes compared to the highway patrol car is in constant use for 1 hour 20 minutes? The main point of the movie is the highway patrolman being taken hostage and forced to drive to Sugarland with everyone in pursuit.
benny ◊ 2007-03-01 17:54	I absolutely agree with Sunbar: I think that it deserves 5 stars, because the movie is pratically set in it for nearly all the running time. It was used for all the movie, and most of the dramatic scenes were ambiented into this car.

After the film wrapped, I understand that Steven Spielberg actually used it as his daily driver for a while, riddled with prop bullet holes and all. I've actually seen a photo of him sitting in the driver's seat with the door open. Anyone here know more of the story?

Capable of reaching top speeds of 157 Mph. Compression ratio of the 440 Super Commando V8 was around 8:1. The equipment used in this Polara Pursuit Package was a General Electric Progress Line Low-Band VHF Two-Way radio, a Regency Monitoradio 10 channel Scanner, a MARS Skybolt Deluxe Lightbar, and a Sireno Siren Control. -- Last edit: 2013-02-16 04:33:23
