Well, I don't know what in the sam hell is going on here but its safe to say the Charger is the winner. |

*** Used in a short chase (+ "chicken" game) against the Charger. |

The 2nd chicken game of the movie. In the first one, neither the Plymouth or Maserati survive. This one though, the Charger mysteriously is still drivable after slamming into the DB9. On other note, I read somewhere that they used a fake DB9. They show Statham changing gears manually but DB9s never came with manual transmission. I didn't realize this when watching the movie as I was too busy with the rest of the scenes. |

The earlier DB9s were available with both a manual transmission and automatic. |

In the first chicken run, the 2 cars meet nose to nose. Dom comes off worse than expected because Statham has reinforced his "chassis". In the second chicken run, Dom powers his car into a wheelie, so Statham's matte DB9 bonnet impacts with Dom's front "clip", hence Dom's car is undamaged. |

"The Aston Martin DB9 is the most obvious ‘fake' car "Yeah, we faked the Aston," Dennis laughs, "but the styling and shape of the car has stayed the same so most people wouldn't know it's not a 2014 model." Why fake? In the movie, Jason Statham's character is seen driving the Aston with a manual gearbox, which of course, never existed on the DB9. "A manual transmission to me is just cooler, so we had our own shifter for that," says Dennis." Link to "www.topgear.com" |

You could get manual DB9s earlier in production, and this car looks to be an earlier one. |

The DB9 was available in manual transmission, as they are cars made only under demand there are very little DB9 manufactured with manual trans from factory because only a few owners ordered them with it. The DB9 on the film seems to be the an unit for the american market, sad to see an Aston totaled just for filming purposes, is a low numbers production car. |
