In the movie it was featured as a brand-new 1983 if I remember well |

The movie was made from 1980-1981 so wouldn't it have been an upcoming new '82 model? They don't make demos two years ahead, do they? |

It's most like an '82 as mentioned already. If it's fuel injected, it has the "cross fire" fuel injection. (same as the '82 and '84 vette's) |

Look at the appalling orange peel in the paint above the door handle repainted in a hurry for the film I guess? Surely Pontiac wouldn't have let the car leave the factory looking like that? -- Last edit: 2012-06-02 15:11:11 |

That is where it is going to be again in five years. |

Weird anachronism, since the movie is supposed to be taking place in September of 1980 (the James Dean festival he's driving to is supposed to be on the 25th anniversary of his death). I guess that's just one of those weird things that happens when a movie is multiple years in production (he was working on this one at least as early as 1979). |

This car would not have had the CeaseFire (Crossfire) injection as that was not available in a base Firebird, It would have had a 2.5 Iron Duke. |
