| The car on the left is actually a 1979-1981 Pontiac Trans-Am. The Camaro is a 1980 or 1981 model going by the grille. Both are in CHP (California Highway Patrol) colours/markings. |

| The Camaro is a 1979. This is one of only 12 specially-made Camaros that were made for the California Highway Patrol to test out. Over time, the cars were found to have had many problems, and this paved the way for the CHP to have dropped the Camaro as a patrol car and to have asked Ford for a special police vehicle, which led to the birth of the SSP (Special Service Package) Mustang in 1982. | ok hold on------- thez28 logo shown was used in 77-78, this car has the noseof the 78-81 camaro. now, the hoos scoop was used from 78-79, and the grill from 80-81. the fender vents appear to be those of the78-79 z28, finned. |
