Very brief appearance in film with main giving the only useful capture, but important 2* role. Behind-the-scenes DVD extra is much more revealing: 2.3-16 boot badge so Cosworth - UK launch July 85. Intriguing AMG 549 plate - seems to be a dead end on check sites but found this 2008 sighting in Surrey - Link to "platewave.com" . |

They weren't called Cosworth officially. I thought there was maybe a british exception, but then I saw this : https://media.motorsportmagazine.com/archive/january-1989/full/58.jpg |

I've owned 2 2.5's (H826FFJ & J888YWT) neither had any reference anywhere either in badging or in the literature to Cosworth, most of the 2.3's I've seen did have a Cosworth badge under the 2.3-16 on the boot lid, probably a UK dealer thing. Wonderful cars, nice & pokey and a lovely place to travel in, clutch slave cylinders do get cooked by the exhaust and suspension bushes & ball joints will need done at about 100k (did both of mine), apart from that, 100% reliable. Pity most of them are starting to rot in the rear inner wings due to a leaky rear screen, good ones are north of 20K now (still can't find the pound symbol on my keyboard) so it's unlikely I'll ever afford another. |
