It is the other way round .The convertible as this one ( it has an added hardtop)was realised by Vignale on a Michelotti design. The coupe ( with the rear panoramic window) was realised by Pinin Farina. The convertible was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show of 1957 and build untill 1962 with a production run of about 1500 cars. |

The Appia Convertible came in two versions. The first series which is a 2 seater and based on the 2nd series Appia Berlina, and the 2nd series 2 + 2 seater based on the 3rd series berlina... A bit confusing as an Appia Convertible called "2nd series" is in fact a 1st series and the "3rd series" is a 2 series... Ok, I lost everyone here :-) And to get everyone totally confused, some 1st series (2 seaters) had a script "seconda series" instead of "Appia Convertibile"... Correct me if I'm wrong :-) |
