Chatelec will kick off in April with 40 vehicles imported from its British collaborators in a knocked-down condition before going into production. But the fibreglass-body vehicles are not cheap: Rs.90,000 to Rs.2 lakh, including the batteries. This is partially offset by the low maintenance costs and 15-year lifespan."
