If plate is EL 9099, it's 1922-26, FL 9099 = 1930. Radiator badge looks like Barford or similar word. |

A very similar "Aveling & Barford" with late 35 plate - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cT9pkP69xU - different wheels and superficial bodywork but looks same basic type in later version. Trying to explore other plain Barford or Barford and Perkins - I guess Perkins is the same Perkins who did lots of diesel engines, so their connection is probably the engine more than the full design. Barford and Perkins would be a new make. Update - yes it is the Perkins diesel connection - Link to "www.perkins.com" . I read that information as excluding this one being a diesel (see plate dates above) if Frank built his first diesel in 32, but allowing name here to be Barford or Barford and Perkins - maybe with B&P more likely. OK - agreed B&P. Looks like A-Series - Link to "beamishtransportonline.co.uk" although still a wheel format difference More B&P info - Link to "beamishtransportonline.co.uk" Another "Aveling & Barford" looking similar underneath http://www.r-r-a.org.uk/forsale.html with matching wheels. And a 1932 A&B with different wheels - Link to "www.waymarking.com" - described as Model A2½ Roller.
