Very early Mk1 Elf from Oct 61-Apr 62 without over-riders or body seam on front wing.

Is this not a Wolseley Hornet grille ?

Perhaps I understand your mistake. Apparently not a single yellow shade was available on the Wolseley Hornet, whyle the Elf had at least one. I guess that this car is painted in "old English White" which was a yellowish ivory white, and the picture makes the car visible in not the actual color.

This one's always bugged me slightly as I don't remember any yellow body Elfs or Hornets, and nothing listed in the lists I've found. The only yellow ref I have is for early Elf Mk1 with Florentine blue body and Chartreuse yellow roof. Trying yet another capture

confirms I think it's a real yellow with either a mid-dark blue or maybe grey (Yukon grey??) roof (and incidentally a clearer Wolseley grille). Ignoring the colour lists, it looks as if Hornets did offer Chartreuse yellow body and Florentine blue roof - even if briefly

- reversing the listed Riley scheme, which they did with some other Elf/Hornet combos.

 I love this Elf paint combination.

I am buying a yellow 1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 and I feel excited when I see an old car in an attractive yellow shade in this period.

Nice - which one?? Even the Berlina is delicious, but I do like the GTV a lot.

The berlina. The GTV is too much expensive... A "Piper yellow" 1974 sedan with black vinil ("Texalfa") uphostery. I would have preferred the dark blue cloth but it doesn't last long.
Tomorrow. I put here some pictures if you wish and nobody is against.
