This is an International S-Series NOT a Loadstar with a Ward/AmTran body.. -- Last edit: 2014-08-10 14:41:19 |

1986 model year by the fleet number (Ward) |

And the number under the swing out stop arm has an 88... How do you know that the 86 is the purchase year and not the 79. if the 79 is the year of purchase it would be a Ward. If the 86 is the year of purchase it would be an AmTran...You are assuming and you know what they say about assuming... -- Last edit: 2015-06-04 13:42:43 |

Ward became AmTran in 1980 so you are incorrect. Ward filed for bankruptcy in 1980, and its successor, AmTran, continued the use of the Ward brand on its school buses until 1992. American Transportation Corporation (better known as AmTran) was a builder of school buses in the United States. Founded in 1980.... So to sum up if the 79 is the year of purchase it is a Ward; if the 86 is the purchase year then it is an AmTran -- Last edit: 2015-06-04 13:42:56 |

On the front it looks like 20-86 which I would assume is the 20th bus bought for 1986. I was going by the brand name that was used (usually been above the driver's side window and the passenger side door) |

Going by this comment--it is an AmTran and not a Ward. It needs to be changed. See my previous comments... -- Last edit: 2015-06-04 13:43:15 |
