2008-08-23 23:50 | It is most definitely a Ford. However, this is actually a 1979-1980 Ford LTD Country Squire. This was before the Crown Victoria name was used. Mercurys had a different front. |
2008-08-24 04:38 | Wasn't the "Crown Victoria" name not used on the wagons anyway, even after it started to be used on the sedans? (i.e. "Ford LTD Country Squire") Also ford guy, the "Crown Victoria" name actaully started in 1980 as the top trim level for sedans (replacing "Landau") |
2008-08-24 04:44 | Right, I believe you're correct about that. There was this one, simply known as the "LTD Country Squire" and there was your base "LTD Crown Victoria Wagon." I believe that's how it was. And I'm well aware of the Crown Victoria name first being used in 1980 as replacing the Landau name. I was referring specifically to the wagons. |
2008-08-24 04:49 | Oh sorry, didn't mean to insult your Panther-car knowledge ![]() |
2008-08-24 04:51 | insult? haha...c'mon taxiguy, I wasn't insulted ![]() |
2008-08-24 05:46 | Just makin' sure ![]() It's just that, if someone told me something really obvious about a car I "specialize" in (say... the Toyota Camry for instance) in a way like I didn't know it already, I might be a little off-put, you know? I realized that after I posted the comment, I thought "wow, I am actually telling ford guy the first year the "Crown Victoria" name was used, like he doesn't already know" ![]() |
