Bedford RLHZ 'Green Goddess' Self Propelled Pump, 1953 to 1956. |

For Bedford Green Goddesses, I've just come across a letter in a model magazine which says that the Bedford S 4x2 had the hose reel over the rear wheels, but the RL 4x4 had the reel further forward. So this one is RL 4x4 (as ID above). Is this correct? Do those of us who know Bedford things know all this already?? |

That is correct. The SHZ 'Green Goddess' 4x2 Self Propelled Pump was built on a civilian rear-wheel drive chassis with two 180ft hose reels at either side of the rear. -- Last edit: 2014-06-18 17:19:11 |

Reassured that this was already known. But slightly surprised that I can only find 3 Green Goddesses in our collection as SHZ and RLHZ - not expecting Crown Vic numbers, but it seems a low count. Are any hiding under other names?? |
