I was talking about the holes (tiny) in the bumper which are for me the only clear (if I may say so) way to discriminate MBs and GPWs. And I was wondering aloud whther this one could actually be a GPW. |

I understand the bumper holes. Statistically many of the jeeps listed as MB should be GPWs but without clear details (like front cross member)they go generically as MB. Most all WWII jeeps were rebuilt by the late 1950s so a true original parts unit would be rare. As mentioned previously Bumpers, Steering wheels, mufflers are often replaced and could be misleading. If you see a GPW bumper and want to define as GPW I see no reason not to. Glad you enjoy these old classics. |
