A40 is whole series all-around code. 'T' (or 'K', or 'R') indicates precisely engine type. |

Glass's gives UK code as TA60 until Feb 82 update (black bumper ends and side moulding, indicators on front wing - all present here) as TA62. Main Carina engine here was 1.6 (the only engine for estate), but saloon had extra 1.8 versions from Apr 81 as TA47. |
