Plate checks say Leyland Redline - I've come across this before without understanding what it means, although I don't think it is a formal make (so keep as just Leyland). Is it a reference to Scottish production at Bathgate?? DVLA details for YNC 338M are: Date of Liability 01 04 1989 Date of First Registration 23 10 1973 Year of Manufacture Not Available Cylinder Capacity (cc) Not Available CO₂ Emissions Not Available Fuel Type PETROL Export Marker N Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour BLUE Vehicle Type Approval Not Available |

Yes it was a marketing name for the Scottish trucks all formerly BMC badged- http://archive.commercialmotor.com/article/31st-july-1970/39/bmc-marque-discontinued Sounds like it was to colour code which garages seviced which models , perhaps some operators could not read ![]() -- Last edit: 2014-04-16 13:19:51 |

Doesn't seem to me that having a new make Leyland Redline is a good idea - far too difficult to apply consistently. But ..... when we get independence, Sir Admin will need to give us a Scottish flag and confirmed Redlines can be updated to made in Scotland. Has anyone seen any discussion about what flag Rest-Of-UK (which apparently is going to be renamed London Province) will use?? Without the Cross of St Andrew (white diagonals on blue) the Union Jack will no longer be valid? |

Totally agree , I just consider Redline a marketing name not a make. I envy you your vote , us English nationalists can't get a vote on anything ! -- Last edit: 2014-04-17 09:38:43 |
