Anyone knows a model? I'm not big in DeSotos but hope, that they use different side trim for different models... |

I see. Firesweep, Firedome or Fireflite? |

I think it is a Firesweep it has no name tag on the side. The Firedome and Fireflite of that year had name tags on the front fender and the Fireflite had a medallian just above the V in the side trim. -- Last edit: 2006-02-09 00:36:41 |

It's a '59 Firesweep. In '59 it's much harder to tell a Firesweep apart from a Firedome/Fireflite than in '57-58, but the '59 has a 4-inch shorter wheelbase, all of it taken out between the cowl and the front axle. It's hard to tell from that angle, but from other angles the shorter front-end clip of the Firesweep is much more noticeable. |

?? My info says [MS1-L41]... |

You are correct, My book put the MS1-L in the heading to the chassis code table for 59 models (why?) so I overlooked it. Body style is indeed 41, but interestingly, the table includes a model column (again only for 59 the latest year shown in the book) and that is the 413. Stay with DynaMike's chassis code. |

In Australia it was more likely called a Chrysler Royal. T |

It got totally destroyed sadly, burnt out then had the front stove in by the Mack towing the tanker when they leave the compound |
